The Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA Ports) is seeking an experienced finance professional to join our high-performing team and participate in the growth of Ontario’s largest port authority.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis
As a senior member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Manager, FP&A is responsible for delivering key financial information and critical business insights to senior management and other stakeholders. This role incorporates financial modelling, treasury, risk and insurance, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring financial stability.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed financial plans and reports, including business case development and analysis, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Perform business analytics, modeling through “what-if” scenarios and sensitivity analyses for management and functional teams.
- Cash management including daily cash and liquidity analysis, rolling cash flow forecasting, debt management and monitoring financial risk.
- Manage organizational risk register, conduct periodic risk assessments and support mitigation strategies and controls.
- Administer insurance programs and policies, liaise with brokers.
- Manage realty tax accounts, supporting commercial cost estimates for tenants and monthly expense allocations.
The background you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Minimum 5-7 years progressive related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well-rounded business acumen with strong analytical, financial and systems skills
- Passion for producing results that have an impact
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
