Impact Assesment Act
The Impact Assessment Act outlines a process for assessing the impacts of major projects and projects carried out on federal lands. Most of the lands in the Port of Oshawa are federal lands.
The Impact Assessment Act is a planning and decision-making tool used to assess:
- Positive and negative environmental, economic, health, and social effects of proposed projects;
- Impacts to Indigenous groups and rights of Indigenous peoples.
When projects are planned, information is posted on a public registry.
Additional information about large-scale projects, or projects of interest to the community/other stakeholders will be posted on this website.
